"The Fade" was a six-part series with a supplemental epilogue published in the Klamath Falls Herald and News in August 2007. The series documents the final days of Ron Winn, a former Herald and News photographer forced to retire due to a rare form of muscular dystrophy.
The series earned first place in the investigative reporting division in the 2008 C.B. Blethen Memorial Awards and also received a first place award in best writing from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association in 2008.
