"The Betty Lou Parks Case" was a seven-part series published in the Klamath Falls Herald and News in November-December 2011. The series was written after three years of ongoing coverage of the cold case investigation of Betty Lou Parks' murder along with additional research and interviews of family, friends, community members and government officials.
The series earned first place in the investigative reporting division in the 2012 C.B. Blethen Memorial Awards and also received a first place award in best writing and best feature from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association in 2012.
